M.D. Yudcovitch is a freelance writer and Registered Psychologist who currently resides in Canmore, Alberta. He is a graduate of the Vancouver Film School (VFS) Writing for Film & Television Program. He has also earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Calgary and a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University, in Forest Grove, Oregon. He is currently pursuing his passions for film, writing, and psychology, towards the realization of his dream of becoming a writer-director.
The first short film M.D. authored, Booze, Sex & Communism (2011), was an Official Selection of the 2012 Victoria International Film Festival. The second short film he penned, Miss Pearlman (2011), was a 2011 VFS Impact Award Nominee for Outstanding Emotional Impact, and, in 2013, appeared on an episode of PIE, a show on KCTS-9, a Public Television network serving Seattle, Central Washington, and British Columbia. Miss Pearlman was also an Official Selection of the 2013 Whistler Film Festival. The third short film he wrote, Caffé E Amore (2012), was produced by Warmland Films, a Vancouver-based film production company, with whom he has also collaborated on a feature-length screenplay.
M.D. completed his third feature-length screenplay in 2014 and, in 2015, finished his fourth short screenplay, which he plans to direct, in 2016, propelled by an active imagination, a love of storytelling, and a belief in the transformative power of art.
